Where we install
Not on the list?
Ask anyway. Add your ZIP code to the quote form, and if you’re just outside our area, we’ll let you know honestly whether we can help this season.
Notes for each community
- Aliso Viejo
- Many homes here belong to the Aliso Viejo Community Association, a master HOA whose CC&Rs cover exterior aesthetics. Share any decorating guidelines with your request and we’ll design within them.
- Costa Mesa
- The city runs a Holiday Lights Display Contest for residents and hosts the Snoopy House holiday display each season. Entering the contest? Mention it in your request so we can plan your install date around it.
- Coto de Caza
- An unincorporated, guard-gated community, so we arrange gate access with you ahead of time. Community associations here have published holiday lighting policies, so please share yours with your request.
- Dana Point
- Dana Point’s municipal code allows traditional Christmas lights on homes from November 1 through January 10, so we plan installation, and any takedown you request, inside that window.
- Irvine
- Most Irvine neighborhoods are managed by HOAs that review exterior changes, so we design within your association’s guidelines. The city’s permit guidance lists temporary decorative lighting as work that doesn’t need a permit.
- Ladera Ranch
- LARMAC’s standards let holiday lighting go up without architectural review from 60 days before a holiday until 30 days after, for up to 90 days in any 12-month period. We keep designs on your property and off association common areas.
- Laguna Beach
- The city’s outdoor lighting rules exempt residential holiday lighting from November 15 to January 15, as long as it’s off by midnight. We plan install dates, and any timer, around those rules.
- Laguna Hills
- The city publishes a holiday lights map of homes submitted by residents. If you plan to add yours, mention it in your request so we can plan your install date around it.
- Laguna Niguel
- One of California’s first master-planned communities, and home base for the team behind Gabby’s Cleaning Service. The city has also published a Holiday Lights Map of decorated homes.
- Laguna Woods
- Laguna Woods Village, the largest of the city’s 55+ communities, is gated, and its housing mutuals have architectural control committees. Check your mutual’s rules first. We’ll design within them and arrange gate access ahead of time.
- Lake Forest
- Lake Forest joined El Toro and Foothill Ranch when it incorporated in 1991, and associations such as Lake Forest II, a planned community of 3,436 homes, handle architectural control. Share your association’s rules and we’ll design within them.
- Mission Viejo
- The city holds an annual Holiday Home Lighting Contest, and the Lake Mission Viejo Association lights up the lake each December with a boat parade for members. Entering the contest? Mention it so we can plan your install date.
- Newport Beach
- The Christmas Boat Parade has filled Newport Harbor with light for more than a century, and its Ring of Lights invites waterfront homes to join in. If your home faces the water, we’ll design with the view from the harbor in mind.
- Rancho Santa Margarita
- Many homes here belong to SAMLARC, a master association of 13,645 homes whose aesthetic draws on Spain, Italy and France. Warm white light is a natural match for Mediterranean architecture. Share any association guidelines with your request.
- San Clemente
- Founded as the “Spanish Village by the Sea,” with deeds that required red tile roofs and whitewashed stucco, San Clemente still shows its Spanish heritage in its architecture. We plan every roofline with tile in mind.
- San Juan Capistrano
- The city grew up around Mission San Juan Capistrano, founded in 1776, and historic areas such as the Los Rios district have their own design requirements. If your home is in a historic district, share any requirements with your request.
Working with your HOA
Many homes in these communities are governed by HOAs or community associations, and some have their own guidelines for holiday decorations. Share yours with your quote request and we’ll design within them. If your association needs to approve the plan, we can describe the design so you can submit it.
Service area questions
How do I know if you serve my address?
Add your ZIP code to the quote form and we’ll let you know. If you’re close to one of these communities, send your request anyway.
Do you install in gated communities?
Yes, as long as access is arranged ahead of time. Add gate instructions or a contact to your quote request, and we’ll confirm the details before your installation date.
Do you serve Coto de Caza and Ladera Ranch?
Yes. Both are on our list, even though they’re unincorporated communities rather than cities. In unincorporated areas, the County of Orange requires an encroachment permit for holiday displays over public streets or sidewalks, so we keep designs on your property.
Can you light an HOA entrance or common area?
Tell us about the project through the quote form and choose HOA or commercial as the property type. We’ll follow up to talk it through and let you know if it’s a fit.
Ready to see your home glow?
Tell us about your home and the look you love.
