Privacy notice

The short version

• We collect what you enter in the quote form, plus a few technical details that keep the form safe.
• We use it to prepare your quote, follow up and do the work you book.
• We don’t sell or share your personal information, and we don’t use advertising trackers.
• You can ask us to see, correct or delete your information at any time.

What we collect

• Contact details: your name and email address and, if you choose to share them, your phone number, preferred contact method and street address.
• Details about your home and project: ZIP code, property type, number of stories, what you’d like lit, how many trees and palms, preferred style and timing, an optional budget range and any notes.
• Photos you choose to upload (optional).
• Technical details sent with the form: the page you submitted it from, any campaign tags in the link you followed (such as utm_source), and a one-way hashed version of your IP address that we use to prevent spam and abuse. We don’t keep your IP address in readable form.
• Like most websites, our hosting provider may keep short-lived technical logs, such as IP address and browser type, to keep the site secure and running.

How we use it

• To prepare your quote and contact you about it.
• To schedule and carry out work you book, and to keep records of it.
• To check whether your address is in our service area.
• To protect the form and our systems from spam, fraud and abuse.
• To understand, in aggregate, which pages and links lead to quote requests.

We don’t use your information for advertising, and we won’t add you to marketing emails unless you ask us to.

Photos and location data

Photos are optional and used only to plan your lighting. When you upload a JPEG, PNG or WebP photo, we automatically remove its embedded metadata, including GPS location, and resize it before saving it.

HEIC and HEIF photos (common on iPhones) are currently saved as uploaded and may still contain location data. If you’d rather not share it, turn off location in your phone’s sharing options or send a screenshot instead.

Uploaded photos are stored privately, seen only by our team, and never published on this site.

Who we share it with

We don’t sell or share your personal information, as California law defines those terms.

We use a few service providers that process information only on our behalf: our website hosting provider, which stores the site and your request; an email delivery service, which sends quote notifications to our team and our replies to you; and, if enabled, a spam-protection service such as Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that the form is being submitted by a person.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect our rights, property or safety.

How long we keep it

We keep quote requests and photos for up to 24 months after your last contact with us, so we can follow up about your quote and plan future seasons. After that, we delete them or remove anything that identifies you.

If you book with us, we keep the records we need for accounting, tax and legal purposes for as long as the law requires.

You can ask us to delete your request sooner at any time.

Your California privacy rights

California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA). Whether or not those laws apply to a business of our size, we’ll honor these requests:

• Know and access: ask what personal information we have about you, where it came from, why we use it and who we disclose it to, and get a copy.
• Correct: ask us to fix information that’s inaccurate.
• Delete: ask us to delete your information, except records the law requires us to keep.
• Opt out and limit: we don’t sell or share personal information, and we don’t use sensitive information, such as location data that may remain in a photo, for anything beyond providing our services.
• No discrimination: we won’t treat you differently for making a request.
• Authorized agents: someone can make a request for you, and we may ask for proof that they’re authorized.

How to make a request or contact us

Use the quote form on our homepage and write “Privacy request” in the notes, along with what you’d like us to do. Please use the same email address you gave us before so we can find your information. You can also reply to any email we’ve sent you.

To protect your information, we’ll confirm your identity by matching details you’ve already given us before we act on a request. We’ll respond within 45 days, as California law generally requires.

Cookies and similar technologies

We don’t use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. The site may remember simple preferences in your browser, such as reduced motion, and those settings stay on your device. If we add privacy-friendly visitor statistics, we’ll update this notice first.

How we protect it

We use reasonable safeguards: encrypted connections (HTTPS), private storage for uploaded photos, and access limited to the people who prepare your quote. No system is perfectly secure, so please don’t send payment details or other sensitive information through the form.

Children

This site is meant for adults arranging work on their homes. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 16.

Changes to this notice

If we make meaningful changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
